Position Summary:

The Research Assistant will help with all aspects of Dr. Ogden’s CEA breeding program. This will involve a combination of greenhouse, lab, and field work with primary location at Bledsoe Research Farm in Williamson.

Duties/Responsibilities

Horticulture crop care including potting, transplanting, trellising, pest monitoring, manual pollinations, data recording, weeding, utilizing weed-eaters and applying herbicides; harvesting is also required. (90% of time)

Lab work involving fruit quality analysis, data entry, and seed processing and cataloging. (10% of time)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Basic horticulture skills are required for this position.

Physical Demands Work includes presence in hot, humid conditions; heavy lifting up to 50 pounds; bending and stretching to provide crop care.

Pre‑employment drug testing may be required for high‑risk responsibilities.
