Position Summary

The Freelance Social Media & Content Creator develops, plans, and executes high-quality digital content that strengthens brand awareness, supports organizational goals, and drives engagement across all platforms. This role includes coordinating marketing activities, managing content calendars, and ensuring messaging is consistent, timely, and aligned with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Strategy

Develop engaging content (graphics, reels, videos, photos, stories, blogs, and captions) for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

Write compelling copy that aligns with brand voice and target audience.

Capture and edit photos and video footage as needed.

Create content for websites, newsletters, events, and print collateral.

Recommend trends, content opportunities, and growth strategies.

Social Media Management

Build and maintain the monthly social media content calendar.

Schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to comments/messages as appropriate.

Track analytics and provide performance summaries with recommendations for improvement.

Ensure consistent branding and adherence to visual identity guidelines.

Marketing Coordination

Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to gather content, information, and campaign priorities.

Assist with coordination and promotion of events, announcements, product/service highlights, and community outreach initiatives.

Organize and maintain a digital asset library (photos, videos, templates, logos).

Work with outside vendors (photographers, printers, etc.) when needed.

Participate in virtual check-ins or planning meetings as scheduled.

Project & Workflow Management

Ensure planned posts and campaigns are delivered on time.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Communicate progress, needs, and ideas clearly and proactively.

Maintain an organized approach to gathering approvals and finalizing drafts.

Qualifications

Proven experience creating content and managing social media for brands, businesses, or organizations.

Strong graphic design and video editing skills; proficiency with tools such as

Canva ,

Adobe Creative Suite , or other editing platforms.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and produce high-quality content with minimal oversight.

Knowledge of current digital trends, platform algorithms, and best practices.

Strong time management, attention to detail, and creativity.

Experience in marketing coordination, communications, or brand management preferred.

Preferred Skills

Photography and videography skills

Understanding of SEO principles

Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)

Experience in healthcare, wellness, or professional services

Work Environment

Remote, with occasional onsite visits for content capture depending on project scope.

Flexible schedule with the ability to meet tight deadlines when needed.

Compensation

Hourly rate or project-based fee depending on experience and scope.

Contract includes defined deliverables, timelines, and payment schedules.
