Job Description
Support flight software integration within a high‑fidelity, real‑time 6DOF simulation.
Integrate avionics hardware and software within real‑time closed‑loop simulation environments.
Perform integration of PCIe IO devices with a real‑time 6DoF model.
Perform diagnostic software analysis, real‑time OS control, and collaboration with hardware, software, and simulation teams to determine and evaluate performance characteristics.
Use lab tools (DVM, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.) to verify system configuration.
Test and evaluate specific systems with a team of engineers.
Software may be required to diagnose or test specific components.
Hands‑on testing, diagnostic work as well as software integration and development.
Debug software and hardware issues.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful integration of avionics hardware.
Provide technical support to other teams as needed.
Interaction with customers and vendors will be required.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or science field and at least 5 years of experience in software development for real‑time closed‑loop implementations.
Must be able to work in a Linux environment.
Must be fluent in C/C++.
Must be proficient in debugging software issues.
Must have excellent skills in customer and team communication and collaboration.
Must have the ability to work with software and hardware.
Must be able to document and explain work.
Desired Qualifications
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Preferred familiarity with tools such as GDB, VS Code (or similar), and Git.
Preferred experience with various Linux distro installs.
Preferred experience performing kernel configuration.
Security Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel – less than 10%.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ID) if required.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
