Responsibilities

Execute end‑to‑end payroll processing for all U.S. employees and support global payroll as required.

Provide cross‑training and serve as backup for payroll processing in other regions to ensure continuity of global payroll operations.

Review, validate, and reconcile time‑keeping data for hourly and salaried employees, proactively resolving discrepancies prior to payroll runs.

Administer payroll taxes, payroll deposits, benefits deductions, and third‑party remittances, ensuring timely submission, accurate reporting, and immediate resolution of variances.

Prepare and enter payroll and benefit‑related journal entries; perform monthly, quarterly, and year‑end payroll account reconciliations.

Lead year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 preparation, taxable benefit reporting, multi‑state reconciliations, and coordination with Finance, People & Culture, and external providers.

Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including payroll tax registrations and rate changes, garnishments, leaves, benefit eligibility rules, and other statutory obligations.

Deliver value‑added support to internal and external stakeholders by responding to payroll and benefit‑related inquiries and preparing scheduled and ad‑hoc reports.

Maintain and strengthen internal controls by documenting processes, recommending improvements, and participating in the implementation and testing of payroll systems and HRIS improvements.

Support audits, ensuring payroll documentation, controls, and reconciliations are audit‑ready at all times.

Uphold strict confidentiality and data security standards.

Requirements

3+ years of payroll and benefits processing experience in California, preferably in a multi‑state environment.

Experience with data entry across benefits, time‑entry, and payroll systems.

Experience with time‑keeping software.

Experience with payroll systems (Ceridian preferred).

Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas).

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and professional communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High technical skills, software proficiencies, or abilities.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Nice to Have

Experience in Canadian and Australian payroll.

Experience with payroll system implementation.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.

Salary $42 to $45 per hour. The base pay offered may vary based on factors including knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location, and business needs.
