Opportunity Overview As a Process Engineer with the Gas Processes Team, you will lead the design and implementation of chemical facilities across a broad portfolio, including LNG, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Fertilizers, Gasification, Fermentation, Sulfur Recovery, Gas Treatment, Biofuels, Syngas Processing, and NGL Recovery and Fractionation. You will mentor junior engineers, oversee project lifecycles from feasibility to commissioning, and apply advanced engineering techniques to solve complex problems.

The Team Black & Veatch’s Fuels & Natural Resources sector supports global investors and operators with large‑scale solutions that convert critical resources into essential fuels and feedstocks. Our work spans consulting, design, FEED, procurement, construction (EPC), and commissioning of LNG facilities, floating LNG, gas processing, NGL fractionation, gasification to liquids, hydrogen, and ammonia/fertilizer projects.

Key Responsibilities

Continually develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and B&V policies; offer technical guidance to projects and disciplines.

Apply knowledge and adhere to the B&V quality program; support continuous improvement and change management efforts.

Prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; conduct research and recommend equipment/materials selection; manage data for engineering work and perform complex calculations.

Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements; delegate tasks to lower‑level team members; review their work.

Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.

Identify key client interests and drivers; communicate them to project teams; develop approaches to accommodate these concerns; support business development or pursuit activities.

Serve as a technical specialist in a particular practice area; design complete projects of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects; foster knowledge management and mentor others.

Participate in performance management, mentoring, recognition, career planning, learning, and development activities; identify successors for your role.

Support resource management strategy; manage engineering resources for small groups within a single discipline.

Administrative Responsibilities

Ensure policies, procedures, and processes are implemented and communicated within the work group.

Ensure adherence to corporate and division programs.

Approve timesheets and expense reports.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience in LNG liquefaction design or operations.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Smart Plant P&IDC (SPPID) certification.

Working knowledge of PRO II, Promax, Protreat, HYSYS, and similar process simulation packages.

Strong written communication and interpersonal skills: drive for results, priority setting, planning, delegation, directing others, conflict management, listening, dealing with ambiguity, and building effective teams.

Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides, and standards related to the assigned discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program (in the country where the professional is practicing).

Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
