POSITION SUMMARY The function of the Assembly Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for driving the achievement of departmental and business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at LMT Defense. This position ensures operational excellence, fosters a culture of accountability, and champions the professional development of all team members. The Assembly Supervisor is instrumental in aligning departmental performance with organizational objectives, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and upholding company values and policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
GED or High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and relevant manufacturing software.
Proven ability to drive results through people, process, and policy.
Must be able to sign and abide by Company’s employee manual and confidentiality agreement.
Required to successfully complete a background check, job physical and drug screening.
Must be able to work well with others that may be offering assistance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership & KPI Management:
Set clear departmental goals aligned with business KPIs and monitor progress to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Serve as a visible leader, modeling a commitment to excellence and results-driven performance.
Quality & Performance Accountability:
Maintain full accountability for the quality and output of the Assembly Department.
Ensure all products and processes meet or exceed internal and external quality standards.
Proactively address issues impacting performance, quality or safety, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Talent Development & Capacity Building:
Assess team capabilities and proactively address skill gaps through targeted training and development programs.
Build a high-performing, cross-functional team by promoting ongoing learning, cross-training and succession planning.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback and counsel to support individual and team growth to include performance improvement plans as needed to meet role expectations of reporting personnel.
Coaching & Staff Engagement:
Provide consistent coaching, mentorship and support to all direct reports, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability and professional growth.
Recognize and reward high performance, while addressing underperformance with clear expectations and development plans.
Policy Leadership & Compliance:
Champion the implementation and adherence to company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
Ensure all departmental activities comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and other relevant bodies.
Act as a role model for ethical conduct and organizational values.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Represent the Assembly Department in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors and cross-functional teams.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Production and Quality teams to optimize processes and maintain up-to-date work instructions and SOPs.
Any other duties requested by Senior or Executive Management.
