B&T USA is seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead B&T USA’s new Utah manufacturing and assembly operations. This hands‑on leader will oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process for firearms, suppressors, and related components, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining strict compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements. This role involves managing production schedules, optimizing workflow, supervising staff, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall running and day‑to‑day operation of the manufacturing and assembly operations.
Manage the manufacturing personnel directly or through subordinate staff, assigning duties and scheduling work.
Develop and manage production schedules to meet demand and delivery timelines.
Continuously evaluate manufacturing facility performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Support and contribute to improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes.
Monitor and adjust production processes to improve quality and maximize efficiency.
Ensure the proper order of all parts, supplies, and services necessary for the completion of work projects.
Provide leadership and support for improvement efforts on machines and machine processes.
Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability.
Ensure all products meet industry standards, internal specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ATF, ISO standards).
Collaborate with Quality Control to address defects and implement corrective actions.
Supervise and mentor production supervisors and line workers.
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety protocols and firearms manufacturing regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Monitor production costs and manage departmental budgets effectively.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, assembly, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure project success.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Five or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, including three years in a supervisory or management capacity
Strong knowledge of firearms manufacturing processes, materials, design, functionality and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Strong understanding of DFM principles and processes.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Experience with suppressor design and development.
Familiarity with CNC machining, assembly processes, and ballistic testing.
Understanding of ATF compliance and export control regulations (ITAR).
Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment.
Exposed to machine shop manufacturing elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or crouch.
