Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Charlotte, NC.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $31.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter

Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

Hours: 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Second Shift)

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:

Routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, brake and tire work

Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems

Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred

All other certification as required by location, required

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment

Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Additional Requirements / Screening

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties:

Standard vehicle maintenance

Preventive maintenance

Diagnosis of complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable

Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents

Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)

SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)

Complete 2 of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
