What to Expect This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) but will require working in Fremont (CA) to support early builds and validation for the first 6–12 months. Additional travel may be required.

The Production Supervisor is a member of the Manufacturing Production Team and will lead the development, implementation, and application of Tesla’s Production System. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in implementing production systems in a manufacturing environment, works cross‑functionally with engineering, production associates, quality, and suppliers, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain standardized work instructions used in production by associates.

Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical risks in the production processes with Manufacturing Process Engineers.

Develop training programs and hire plans for production associates.

Support control plans to ensure critical features are controlled through the production process.

Manage production associates and develop the team structures used in the Tesla Factory.

Support issue resolution, including root‑cause investigation and corrective action tracking.

Ensure quality standards are met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area.

Qualifications

Welding experience preferred and a thorough knowledge of high‑volume production systems and processes.

Experience managing teams of people in a production environment and hiring and developing new team members.

Experience in new product development and launch activities.

Experience with a broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques.

Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs).

Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.

Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success.
