Your Role This position focuses on repair/corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance of production and laboratory instruments, machines, and equipment in a drug and medical device manufacturing environment. Flexibility with the work schedule may be required to accomplish goals and tasks.
Responsibilities
Conduct preventive maintenance per appropriate procedures on production and laboratory equipment.
Perform routine and non‑routine corrective maintenance on equipment related to production, laboratory, and other functions within the organization.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and work with Engineering and Manufacturing to determine root cause and prevent recurrences.
Perform equipment repairs using proper aseptic technique while working in aseptic clean rooms.
Provide support as required to the Engineering group on specific projects.
Organize, track, and keep maintenance records updated.
Enter all maintenance information into Event Track in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot PLC problems in conjunction with Engineering and perform required repairs.
Provide mechanical and electrical/electronic technical support to both facilities and equipment.
Evaluate effectiveness of established maintenance procedures and suggest appropriate changes.
Maintain the R/O water unit for sanitization and optimization.
Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to work with various ranges of test equipment.
Ability to work independently in a cGMP environment.
Ability to work with multimeters, test probes, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Ability to read P&ID’s, isometrics, sketches, and/or handwritten instructions.
Good communication and writing skills and works well in a project team environment.
Ability to diagnose and perform electrical repairs (AC single and three‑phase, DC 4‑20 mA, 24 VDC).
Ability to assist in troubleshooting PLC problems.
Ability to interpret ladder logic, Allen Bradley, and similar PLC programming.
Well organized in filling and tracking daily maintenance records, and detail oriented.
Experience in repairs and maintenance of various production/laboratory instruments.
Familiarity with air‑over‑pressure and gravity‑feed autoclaves, steam generators, de‑generation ovens, refrigerated storage, WFI, and RO water generation systems.
Preferred familiarity with de‑gassing and electronic de‑ionization systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components of HVAC systems; refrigerant license preferred but not required.
PC literate for maintenance software and Microsoft products.
Electrical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electronics, Calibration and Maintenance software.
Required Education And Experience
Associate / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5–7+ years’ experience as maintenance mechanic or equivalent.
Science and math coursework helpful.
Pharmaceutical/medical device experience in a GMP environment.
Hazmat Emergency Responder Certification preferred.
Target Pay Range: $38–42/hour + 15% Differential for working on 3rd Shift.
