Personal Financial Counselor, PFC, Fort Bragg
Magellan Health invites candidates to apply for the Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) position at Fort Bragg. The role provides personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at assigned military installations.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
Develop and make available informational financial materials.
Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle.
Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video teleconference (authorized by OSD FINRED Program office).
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per Department of Defense protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
Engage in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (Associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered).
5+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish required if contract demands.
Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
Must possess at least one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (base salary)
