F&M Bank (Farmers & Merchants Bank)
is hiring a Controller to oversee the integrity of accounting and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Direct general ledger operations, month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and bank regulations.
Manage accounting for loans, credit losses, investments, deposits, borrowings, fixed assets, equity, and share‑based compensation.
Support regulatory financial schedules and call report data.
Maintain and enhance internal accounting controls and audit documentation.
Coordinate audit schedules and serve as primary liaison for internal and external auditors.
Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff.
Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Minimum of seven years’ related accounting experience in a financial institution.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and bank‑specific accounting practices.
Proficient in an automated general ledger environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
CPA license preferred.
Employment Type
– Full‑time, exempt level position, Monday – Friday with flexibility as needed.
Location
– Harrisonburg, VA.
