Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Night Shift Manager - Aggregates Operations located in Chico, TX. The Night Shift Supervisor will oversee the nightly operations at our aggregate facility, ensuring safety, productivity, and compliance with company standards. Key responsibilities include supervising production processes, managing a team of workers, coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment functionality, monitoring inventory, and preparing operational reports. The supervisor will promote a safe working environment and be responsible for addressing any challenges that arise during the night shift.
Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership
Champion a strong safety culture by actively promoting safe work practices and ensuring full compliance with MSHA, company policies, and procedures.
Lead the effort toward zero incidents across assigned operations.
Production Planning & Execution
Plan and coordinate daily production schedules to optimize plant performance, equipment utilization, staffing, and inventory.
Oversee all aspects of quarry operations including stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, loading, and shipping.
Support site planning and pit development initiatives.
People & Performance Management
Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, and supervision to hourly and salaried employees.
Partner with HR on hiring, performance evaluations, merit increases, and disciplinary actions.
Build high‑performing teams through training, engagement, and accountability.
Operations & Quality Control
Monitor production metrics and quality control processes to ensure products meet customer and specification requirements.
Analyze operational reports and implement best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re‑handling.
Lead and support preventive maintenance efforts to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
Drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance
Assist with organizing and supporting daily inspections and maintenance activities.
Help ensure crushers, screens, washers, conveyors, and support equipment operate safely and reliably.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of management experience in mid‑to‑large quarry operations within a high‑production environment.
Strong working knowledge of rock mining operations, MSHA regulations, and quality control systems.
Mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining crushers, screens, washers, and conveyors.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and build strong teams.
Demonstrated success managing operational and financial performance to meet or exceed targets.
Strong safety leadership and regulatory compliance track record.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
