Senior Transportation Project Manager – HDR
Join HDR as a Senior Transportation Project Manager on the South Carolina Highways and Roads team. This full‑time, regular position is based in the South Carolina locations of Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Fort Mill.
As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you will help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently and sustainably. You will lead the design and execution of large or complex transportation projects, from highways and bridges to rail, aviation and marine infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the work of single or multi‑discipline teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage large multi‑discipline projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
Establish and maintain client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
Coordinate staffing and workload through the full project life cycle and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within budget and schedule.
Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
Implement QA/QC procedures.
Supervise large project staffs and mentor less‑experienced Project Managers.
Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
PMP certification.
Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
10 years related experience.
Minimum 5 years project management experience.
Professional engineering license recognized by the local licensing board.
Experience with MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
