As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, the Senior Transportation Project Manager will help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. The role will involve designing resilient highways, iconic bridges, transit, rail, aviation, and marine infrastructure while directly supporting economic vitality, public safety, and the quality of life for communities.
Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the work of single‑discipline or multi‑discipline teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage all aspects of large multi‑discipline projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
Establish and maintain client relations, and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule.
Track financial aspects of projects, adjusting work effort with the team to keep work within budget and schedule parameters.
Work with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
Implement QA/QC procedures.
Supervise large project staff and mentor less‑experienced Project Managers.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
PMP certification.
Local candidates are preferred.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
10 years of related experience.
Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
Professional Engineering license recognized by the local licensing board (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience is a plus).
Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
