Introduction: The Office of the State Public Defender (SPD) is currently recruiting to fill a Financial Specialist - Limited Term Employee (LTE) vacancy in our Madison Administration office to work up to 40 hours per week.

LTE positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to a permanent civil service classified position, and do not lead to permanent status.

LTE positions are not eligible for the State of Wisconsin health insurance coverage, the Wisconsin Retirement System contributions, and do not receive paid time off.

Wisconsin residency is required for LTE positions.

No more than 1039 hours may be worked in one year.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Financial Specialist receives vouchers, verifies, audits, inputs and updates data for the appointment counsel payment voucher system following agency policies and procedures in the Assigned Counsel Division.

Salary Information

Starting salary will be $22.31/hour.

Effective written, oral, and communication skills

Proficient data entry skills

Working with computer software applications (i.e. Google Workspace, Adobe, etc.)

Proficient attention to detail
