EPC Substation Estimator
to join their growing team in
Houston, TX . This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects across the U.S. Position Summary
The
Substation Estimator
will support EPC and GC projects by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical infrastructure construction. This role plays a critical part in winning profitable work while maintaining strong project execution standards. Key Responsibilities
Analyze project data to estimate
labor, equipment, material, and subcontract costs Perform
quantity takeoffs
and prepare detailed cost estimates and bids Review
electrical and civil construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints Conduct
site visits
to gather field data for accurate estimating Collaborate with
engineers, project managers, procurement, and subcontractors Develop
constructability plans
and evaluate project cost-effectiveness Prepare and manage
EPC & GC estimates Assist with
scope writing, change orders, and field change estimates Track
budget vs. actual performance
and recommend cost corrections Ensure all estimating documentation complies with
contract and company standards Use
Excel & Bluebeam
for estimating and takeoffs Support
bid strategy and risk evaluation Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in
Civil/Electrical Engineering or Construction Management 5+ years
of experience in
medium & high-voltage substation and transmission construction Strong ability to
read and interpret electrical construction drawings Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel & Word Knowledge of
industry practices, pricing trends, and market conditions Excellent
communication, organization, and analytical skills Ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously Seniority level
