This Opportunity POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, is seeking a High Voltage Substation Inspector. The position will primarily involve performing substation inspections and may require up to 100% travel. POWER will provide mobilization to and from the project. Work will be conducted in and around Amarillo, Texas, and surrounding states.

Your Impact The High Voltage Substation Inspector will support the department to maintain POWER’s high-quality standards, promote teamwork, and meet client needs.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of active field experience; computer skills to fill out daily and weekly reports; photo documentation with working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Travel requirement based on project location.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of transmission line work, foundations, stringing of conductors, and transmission substations and facilities.

Ability to work up to 12‑hour days, 5–6 days a week if project requires.

Willingness to travel and stay for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time for a project.

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for up to 12 hours a day.

Ability to wear company‑provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite.

Capacity to lift a minimum of 50 lbs or more during the day.

Ability to walk 3–5 miles per day across rough terrain or uneven surfaces.

Ability to step in and out of a 3/4‑ton pickup truck several times a day.

Additional Requirements

Current and valid driver’s license.

Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications, and comparing with customer or engineer standards.

Proficient in both verbal and written communication; able to communicate well at all organizational levels.

Will prepare detailed reports and present them to the customer daily in an organized, clear, and concise manner.
