2nd Shift Machinist
– $25.00-$27.00/hr, Monday‑Friday 2pm‑10:30pm, Onsite: Cypress, CA.
Training on 1st shift 6am‑2:30pm; once trained, moved to 2pm‑10:30pm shift.
Key Accountabilities
Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances, ensuring precision, concentricity, finish, and parallelism.
Select speeds and feeds based on material type and finish requirements.
Use shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, and other fixtures to align and secure work, preventing tool or part movement or breakage.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect in‑process or finished parts, validating form, feature characteristics, and manufacturing methods against blueprint specifications.
Lift items up to approximately 40 pounds, work overtime, and/or work any shift as required.
Basic Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of machine shop experience, including operating mills, lathes, etc.
Basic knowledge of operating precision tools, machining methods, and cutting qualities of metals.
Preferred Requirements
Experience with manual and CNC operation on a variety of mills, lathes, grinders, and coordinate measuring machines.
2+ years of machining experience.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Trade school technical certificate.
