Senior CNC Machinist – Camarillo, CA (Aerospace Industry)
Base Pay Range:
$40.00/hr – $45.00/hr
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming and a strong understanding of machining processes. Operating and programming CNC Mill & Lathes machines, with a strong expertise in Mastercam, this is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling and lathe operations.
Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
Develop and optimize programs using Mastercam, creating programs from 2D prints, solid models, and designing tooling/fixing as needed.
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes.
Conduct setup of CNC machines, including tooling adjustments based on job specifications.
Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure optimal part production.
Troubleshoot machining issues and provide solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Mentor and train junior machinists and contribute to process improvements.
Other duties assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications
Over 5 years of CNC machining experience, including programming from scratch.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
High School Diploma or GED, college education a plus.
Detail oriented.
Experience in high mix, low-volume production.
Expertise in Mastercam, able to program lathes and 4-axis mills.
Ability to inspect your own work using precision measurement tools.
Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, geometry, tooling, and blueprint reading is essential.
Experience with precision measuring instruments is required to ensure quality control throughout production runs.
Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 (preferred).
Experience working in an MRP environment.
