We are seeking a Field Construction Manager for a 6-month project with our telecom client to oversee aerial and underground fiber construction projects from planning through closeout. This role supports deployments primarily on U.S. military installations, so experience working within structured, compliance-driven environments is highly valuable. This position requires a strong construction leader with proven general contractor management experience, excellent customer and stakeholder communication skills, and an uncompromising focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Key Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of fiber deployment projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and according to design specifications. Lead field construction activities by supervising internal crews and external subcontractors and general contractors. Enforce all safety policies and OSHA requirements on job sites, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards. Coordinate closely with customers, military base personnel, local authorities, and utility companies to meet project requirements and resolve issues. Track project milestones, review daily field reports, and maintain accurate project documentation including as-built drawings and change logs. Ensure quality workmanship and consistent progress across all phases of construction. Support project closeout activities and final documentation review. Required Skills & Experience

Several years of experience managing fiber-optic construction projects, with a strong focus on outside plant fiber deployments. Proven ability to manage construction crews, subcontractors, and general contractors while maintaining schedule and budget control. Strong project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and risk mitigation. In-depth knowledge of fiber-optic construction methods, including aerial and underground builds. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, field teams, and cross-functional partners. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations with a demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety. Experience working on U.S. military installations or Department of Defense projects is preferred, but not required. This role splits time between the office and the field. Field work takes place at outdoor construction sites on military bases and requires appropriate PPE and adherence to base access and security protocols. Approximately 50 percent travel is expected. Work hours may occasionally include evenings or weekends to meet project deadlines. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards. Seniority level
