Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Compensation & HR Administrative Services to oversee all payroll-related functions for an organization of approximately 800–1,000 employees. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and data integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and administer employee compensation packages using
UKG payroll software , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
In collaboration with division directors to collect, review, and validate employee timecards in accordance with payroll deadlines.
Reviewing and approving pay according to hours worked, including the accurate application of leave time, overtime, and manual adjustments
Oversee the administration of payroll taxes, deductions, and withholdings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Review new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions
Analyze payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, insurance, and leave for variances and data collection for reporting purposes
Support and provide guidance to payroll specialists by assisting with employee pay-related inquiries and ensuring accurate payroll reporting.
Prepare and fulfill requests for payroll-related documentation, including pay statements, employment verifications, and wage confirmations.
Respond to employee’s inquiries
Serve as a backup on calculating unemployment and severance payments
Investigate, manage, and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant data.
Act as a designated backup and provide support to the VP of HR as needed
Providing support to HR Department
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Familiarity with general accounting and payroll principles and MA general labor laws
Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
Solid knowledge of relevant Federal and State legislation, policies and regulations
Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. UKG, Excel, Word, and others)
Advance math and numerical skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
Bilingual skills a plus (English/Spanish)
Proven experience with
UKG Pro
and
UKG Ready
(Workforce Management)
Proven 5+ years’ experience in payroll effectively managing the entire payroll process
Preferred - BS/BA in accounting/business administration, can be substituted for experience
