Molecular Diagnostics Technician (Research and Development)
We are currently seeking an industry experienced undergraduate or graduate with specialization in molecular biology or biology to join our team as an R & D Molecular Diagnostics Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures to support the development and implementation of molecular diagnostic assays, developing SOPs, checklists, work instructions, and job aids for use by downstream technicians in operational lab environments. On‑job and up‑skill training would be an option for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Perform laboratory procedures, including developing protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure reliable results.
Assist in the preparation of reagents, solutions, and specimens for analysis.
Complete the development and standardization of direct‑from‑blood sepsis diagnostic assays and maternal and infant health assays.
Design tests, gather data, and generate reports suitable for preliminary grant data and regulatory compliance.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
Conduct experiments and provide training to junior staff and interns.
Record and maintain accurate experimental data and laboratory records.
Assist in analysis and interpretation of results.
Adhere to strict safety guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
100% onsite role with lab locations in Union, NJ and Newark, NJ.
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate degree from a US‑based university.
Solid understanding of biology.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Strong communication skills.
Willingness to learn new techniques.
Prior lab experience is a plus.
