Diesel/Trailer Mechanic
in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The position involves timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy‑duty fleet vehicles and trailers to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role requires proficiency in repairing and maintaining Class 7‑8 trailers, heavy‑duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair, fleet maintenance operations, electrical systems, preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
Compensation Competitive hourly pay – $30–$40 per hour, DOE. Payment is made weekly, every Friday.
Shift Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.

Role Responsibilities
Prepare vehicle records and report manually and on computer
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium to heavy‑duty vehicles and trailers
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare documentation
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and procedures
Inspect and work on vehicle underparts
Move parts to and from job site and install/remove parts on vehicles
Communicate with clients via email or phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Ideal Candidate
At least 5 years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or an auto/diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” or “B” preferred
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to assess performance
Must provide own hand tools and toolbox
Knowledge of handheld scan tools and vehicle diagnostics
Proficient computer skills – Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing duties
Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise
Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, or other irritants
Access to any area of the equipment or vehicle for maintenance
Ability to move and position heavy objects
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl to repair vehicles
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
