Position Summary
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Keasbey, New Jersey. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy‑duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Diesel Technician position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy‑duty Diesel Engine diagnosis and repair. Comprehension of Fleet Maintenance operations, understanding of electrical, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspection experience and knowledge. 100 % Yard Jockeys.
Compensation
Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Tuesday‑Saturday 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm
Pay
$30.00 hour – $35.00 hour DOE

What the Diesel Mechanic role looks like:
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium to heavy‑duty vehicles
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
What our ideal candidate looks like:
At least 3-5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or expertise in truck and trailer repairs, including diesel engines, Allison transmissions, DEF systems, light hydraulics systems, Cummins insight, JPro, and electrical systems.
Driver's License required
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
Knowledge of hand‑held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions:
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, and other irritants.
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance.
Ability to move and position heavy objects.
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles.
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
