Industry: Electric Utilities Position: Sr. Field Construction Supervisor Location: White Bluff Employment Type: Casual (Part‑time available: Yes) Employment Status: Non‑Exempt Requisition Number: 2769 Job Summary The Construction Field Supervisor will report to the Utility Construction Manager and will be engaged in the project during the construction phase of utility Construction Projects through final commissioning and closeout phases. Responsibilities span the life cycle of a project from initiation to final commissioning and closeout, varying project scopes and roles accordingly.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Participate as a member of project teams to assist in development of scope, cost estimate, and schedule.

Participate in field/scope visits and assist in schedule development including critical paths.

Assist in developing detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements for new facilities.

Assist in developing construction contract bid packages; review responses and participate in vendor selection.

Attend pre‑bid meetings with contractors.

Participate in design constructability reviews.

Ensure contractors comply with Utility Company safety training requirements.

Coordinate with survey and soil boring crews and ensure all necessary permits are in place before construction.

Participate in Pre Construction/Safety Kickoff meetings to outline expectations.

Manage contractor inventory, material delivery, and ensure removal of oil and other contaminants per environmental policies.

Coordinate with Environmental Contractors and Utility Environmental Group for spills, oil removal, storm water management, and SWMPP compliance.

Identify and address safety hazards and environmental concerns; monitor schedule and progress versus service dates.

Ensure quality assurance, completion of SWMS, Asset Data forms, and as‑built documentation.

Handle excess material returns and work with investment recovery processes.

Lead daily crew kickoff, maintain safety of self, public, and team members, and proactively address hazards.

Maintain communication with engineers to provide input on scopes, estimates, schedules, and material deliveries.

Log construction progress, keep field notes, and ensure compliance with Utility Company Standards.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

10–15 years of experience in Distribution, Power Generation, Substation, or Transmission utility sectors.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations with ability to interpret and apply them to construction crew operations.

Working Conditions

Primarily conducted at project construction sites, potentially requiring travel across service areas.

Interaction with team members, supervisors, and client personnel.

Requires wearing personal protective equipment and tolerance of climate changes across multiple job sites.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation)

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Clear speech and hearing; sufficient vision and manual dexterity for office and field duties.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods; sufficient personal mobility for on‑site travel.
