Production Utility Associate – Taylorsville
Georgia‑Pacific LLC is hiring a Production Utility Associate for our plywood facility in Taylorsville, MS. The role involves handling pine plywood panels and siding used in residential and light commercial construction.
Salary & Shift
Base pay: $20.66 per hour
Night shift differential: $1.50 per hour
Variable pay is eligible based on performance.
Shift flexibility: candidates must be willing to work first, second, or third shift, including overtime, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Orientation will be on the day shift; permanent shift assignment follows orientation.
What You Will Do
Pull and lift plywood panels or scraps up to 25 lbs.
Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns and project requirements.
Assist in clean‑up, operation, and maintenance of production equipment; this includes machine operation and forklift operation.
Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, proactively seeking out potential safety hazards.
Read and comprehend written instructions required to complete assigned tasks.
Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, coworkers, and other associates to meet safety, production, and quality goals.
Cross‑train on various machines to increase operational knowledge.
Work any hours, including a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.
Physical Requirements
Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties.
Work in a non‑climate‑controlled mill, with dust, noise, and temperatures that can be higher in the summer and lower in the winter.
Perform tasks such as lifting (50 lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day.
