We are looking for a dynamic individual that can develop, support, and improve our quality management system, which is certified or able to become certified to the following standards, while holding standards and developing others with the team, to follow:

Certification Requirements

AS9100

IATF 16949

The QE would support both QC & QA functions, working alongside the quality, engineering, and operations teams to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications. The quality engineer will participate in day‑to‑day activities involving problem solving, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, project reviews, MRB disposition, timely closures of NCRs, RMA resolution, and training.

As the quality engineer you will be expected to be involved in day‑to‑day activities across all GKN – Additive Manufacturing & system processes to help drive continual improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, and continually improve current quality management system that is certified to AS9100D

Help deploy the IATF16949 and ITAR certifications, for the new site, with gap analysis and actionable items to meet delivery requirements

Responsible for the following systems NCR, MRB, RMAs, calibration, tooling control, FAIRs, drawing reviews, IQ/OQ, source inspection, and validation activities

Ensure quality control procedures, standards and specification are up to date and meet the requirements of applicable industry standards

Be the primary programmer for our CMM and train others to be operators and a programmer

Work with Program Management on understanding and implementing customer requirements using the contract review process

Work alongside the engineering & operation departments to create PFMEAs, DOE, PPAP, Control Plans, APQP for customers and programs

Look for ways to work alongside department managers to reduce waste, continual improvement, and increase efficiency

Review process data, KPIs, customer complaints, NCRs, & CAPAs to identify areas & processes that would benefit from yellow belt or green belt projects

Work with other department leads/managers on implementing continual improvement activities, procedures, 5S, CAPAs, SPC and training

Work alongside the VP of quality & quality manager to ensure compliance to applicable industry standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, ITAR and IATF16949

Working alongside current inspection staff to provide guidance & training on inspection practice and improvements

Provide data reports/trend analysis/KPI data as needed by quality and department managers

Researching new technologies and methods that would improve efficiencies, reduce labor, reduce scrap

Working alongside the operations teams to assist in documenting processes

Participate in internal audits and process audits

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics; or equivalent technical experience

Experience with programming CMM equipment (preferred)

8 Years of quality experience in regulated environment of either automotive, medical, or aerospace required

5 years of experience with print/schematic review and redline

2 years’ PPAP experience within any industry

Strong knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100, IATF16949, ISO9001:13485

CQA or CQE preferred

Must be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers

Strong Knowledge in inspection practices, AQL sampling, GD&T, and AS9102 FAI

Strong analytical problem‑solving skills

Must have superb organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
