This role is a permanent, full‑time position located on‑site in Arlington, WA with travel to schools. The client expects the candidate to relocate at their own expense.

Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

ARM/Lead Recruiter @ Rylem Staffing | "Transforming Businesses and Careers" Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AV System Design Engineer/Programmer who is passionate about creating reliable, user‑friendly AV solutions for K‑12 learning environments. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience designing and programming AV systems commonly used in schools and holds current Extron certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Design complete AV systems for K-12 learning spaces, labs, conference rooms, and district facilities

Develop and program Extron (among others) control systems, touch panels, audio DSPs, and switching equipment

Produce detailed system drawings, signal flows, rack elevations, and installation documentation

Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation teams to ensure system success

Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting

Provide remote and on‑site support during installation and post‑deployment phases

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of AV technologies, standards, and best practices

Ensure all designs meet district requirements, code compliance, and internal quality standards

Requirements Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience designing or programming AV systems (K‑12 preferred)

Strong understanding of classroom AV standards, control systems, projection, switching, audio processing, and networked AV

Proficiency with AV system design tools (Visio, AutoCAD, Blueprinting tools, etc.)

Experience with AV‑over‑IP platforms a plus (e.g., Extron NAV, Dante)

Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Crestron, Q‑SYS, Biamp, or similar systems

CTS or CTS‑D certification

Experience working directly with school districts, contractors, or integrators
