TSC is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer
based in
Huntsville, AL
to support the Radar & Precision Weapons Development Operation.
TSC’s Radar and Precision Weapons Development Division provides products and services in radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas, and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from circuit level to turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has a state‑of‑the‑art hardware capability well respected by Government and industry customers and provides full‑spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning/execution/data analysis.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic packaging for use in Mil/Aero applications.
Model components and systems and create drawing packages for fabrication.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions.
Support vibration and thermal testing.
Maintain responsibility for product from concept to production.
Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product/component performance meets customer specifications and applicable standards.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
3–7 years of industry experience in analysis, design, and packaging of electronics hardware and/or systems.
Ability to balance product design for manufacturability and cost with product form‑fit‑function and thermal attributes to achieve the best mix for each unique product and customer requirement.
Basic understanding of machining and electronic system manufacturing processes.
Understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience designing in SolidWorks.
Ability to read and generate mechanical drawings.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Pro‑E, or other 3D modeling software.
Experience with military electronics packaging including RF, microwave, analog or digital assemblies and subassemblies.
Knowledge of PLM, PDM, and configuration control processes.
Knowledge of military finishes.
Familiarity with dynamic and thermal testing.
