Purpose:
Responsible for stacking boxes of finished product on pallets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read stacking configuration from packing specifications to determine arrangement of cases on pallets.
Set up code date information for product.
Observe packages moving along conveyor to identify and detect defective packaging.
Stack specified configuration of boxes on pallets and move pallet to the pallet wrapper.
Wrap and create a tag for the pallet for storage.
Supply line with packing materials and stop equipment to clear jams.
Keep record of production and equipment performance.
Ensure that all work follows Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).
Follow company policies and GMP’s (good manufacturing practices).
Maintain a high level of safety awareness for an accident‑free workplace.
Accomplish all tasks assigned.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 60 lbs. for 8 to 12 hours.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time that vary from 8 to 12 hours.
Must be able to work in an area of 25 to 45 degrees.
Frequent standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking and seeing required.
Work conditions vary; quitting time depends on production needs and flexibility is critical.
Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment present in the plant.
Potential electrical, mechanical, chemical hazards present; noise level high and constant; floors damp and slick.
Knowledge:
Know metal detector policy and proper handling of product.
Keep packing equipment and work area safe and orderly.
Understand how to keep area clean.
Maintain up‑to‑date inventory of packing supplies.
Have basic understanding of GMP’s.
Understand lockout/tag out procedures.
Understand safety guidelines.
Education and Work Experience:
High school education or equivalent preferred. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team effort.
