Pallet Jack Operator – Surlean Foods
Purpose
Responsible for the multiple operations of the Palletizers and/or Robot for the purpose of stacking product. Operators maintain the equipment, machines and electrical components.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product not processed through automatic palletizing will be manually removed and stacked from the conveyors, Pallets will then be shrunk wrapped before being moved to the finished goods area.
Keep work area clean
Keep count of finished product
Move pallets of stacked product to storage area using pallet jack and forklift.
Observe and practice all rules of safety
Perform all lawful and safety instructions given by supervision
Ensure that all food regulations, quality and safety requirements are followed.
Report any misuse of equipment, product or work rule violations that could result in damage to equipment, product or employee safety to your supervisor/manager
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Working Conditions Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties. Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in processing departments. Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to read labels and numbers.
Ability to operate in high speed and fast-paced environment.
Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.
Able to follow instructions as directed by Supervisor.
Ability to stand for a long time.
Education and Qualification High school degree preferred. Certification in operating Pallet Jack is an advantage.
