This position requires you to be working in office, 3 days per week, from our Bala Cynwyd, PA office.
Position Summary The Pricing Analyst supports the Merchandising organization by analyzing competitor pricing, reviewing margin structures, forecasting revenue outcomes, and evaluating pricing strategies that increase competitiveness and profitability. The role leverages quantitative and qualitative data to develop actionable pricing recommendations and works cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, and Product teams to implement effective pricing strategies. Experience with price management and pricing optimization tools (e.g., PROS, Vendavo, Pricefx) is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze competitor pricing, market conditions, and customer behavior to identify trends and benchmarks that inform pricing strategies.
Evaluate pricing scenarios through statistical modeling and financial analysis to determine impacts on revenue, profitability, and market share.
Recommend pricing strategies that align with market trends, product lifecycle stages, and category-level financial goals.
Forecast revenue, profit margins, and sales performance using pricing, cost, and volume data to support category planning.
Develop or enhance pricing tools, dashboards, and models that enable responsive and data‑driven price adjustments across the assortment.
Partner with Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to implement pricing recommendations and support promotional pricing initiatives.
Prepare and present pricing insights, profitability analyses, and recommendations for leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Stay current on pricing methodologies, industry trends, and analytical best practices to enhance pricing capabilities and competitiveness.
Education and Experience
3-5 years of experience required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related field (required)
Master's Degree or related analytical discipline (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of pricing strategies, revenue management, and market analysis
Understanding of statistical modeling techniques and financial forecasting
Familiarity with retail or distribution markets; automotive aftermarket knowledge a plus
Working knowledge of pricing optimization or price management tools (e.g., PROS, Vendavo, Pricefx)
Understanding of cost structures, margin analysis, and product lifecycle economics
Knowledge of data visualization tools and analysis platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable pricing recommendations
High proficiency with Excel; experience with statistical or analytical tools (R, Python, SQL) is a plus
Effective communication and presentation skills, including ability to explain data findings to non‑technical audiences
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional partners
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work both independently and in team settings
Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer value and financial goals
