Accounts Receivable Analyst

Working Conditions:
Office conditions; standard hours; exempt from overtime provisions. Position is Security Sensitive.
Primary Responsibilities Responsible for cashiering and accounts receivable for Sul Ross State University including International campuses.
Duties include:
Provides dependable accounting and clerical skills to receive and record payments made to the University.
Prepares cashier’s office for opening and securing cash from safe: receives cash and checks; prepares deposit slips; makes daily deposits; computes student refunds.
Processes International Campus registrations and receipts; processes returned checks; prepares receipts for payments; mails notices of payments due.
Properly executes state regulations and University policies regarding installment plans; assists with registration.
Assists with collection of student accounts and third party billing.
Supervises part-time or student employees.
Performs duties unique to the department and other duties as assigned.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
Required Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with coursework in accounting or business.
One year experience or training in accounting, cashiering or accounts receivable.
Strong verbal, written and analytical skills; ability to work independently; computer, spreadsheets and word processing.
Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Director of Human Resources.
