Staff Accountant (Mid-Level) | Starting at $70k + Excellent Benefits
Our client is seeking a
detail-oriented Staff Accountant
to join their growing finance team. This mid-level role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of accounting functions, from payroll and union reporting to financial analysis and month-end close. What You’ll Do
Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
Maintain fixed asset records (acquisitions, disposals, depreciation)
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Process
weekly and monthly payroll
accurately and on time
Manage payroll tax deposits and quarterly/annual tax filings
Handle monthly union reporting
Assist with revenue forecasting and provide analytical support to leadership
Participate in month-end and year-end close
Support audits with required documentation
Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Experience with general ledger systems & payroll processing software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities
Preferred
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Spectrum, Sage, etc.)
Background in revenue forecasting
Payroll experience (certified payroll, union payroll, tax filings)
Starting at $70k (based on experience)
