Deceuninck North America is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Monroe, OH facility. The Senior Accountant is critical for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, driving process improvements, and providing strategic insights. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of accounting principal, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to mentor members of the Finance team. You will go beyond processing transactions to analyzing results, implement controls and, contributing directly to the company's financial health.
Core Responsibilities
Prepares complex journal entries accurately and timely, including accruals, bad debt reserve, warranty accruals, sales rebates, legal accrual, prepaid amortization and depreciation.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and research variances.
Manage the preparation of supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts.
Oversee the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled accurately and timely.
Handle technical accounting areas such as lease accounting, fixed asset depreciation.
Work with operation team to manage assets under construction capitalization, disposal and transfers; analyze tooling impairment and asset under construction aging. Maintain sufficient documentation for audits.
Supervise AP specialist to identify prepaid, expenses and accruals adjustments.
Ensure local business licenses, real estate tax and other local tax are filed and paid on time by regulations.
Review staff accountant journal entries, AP payment run, vendor maintenance and customer order release.
Identify and lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial data.
Internal Controls & Audit
Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and robust internal controls.
Prepare audit schedules and facilitate an efficient audit process.
Additional Duties
Assist in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by CFO or Controller.
Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Experience : 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or similar role.
Technical Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of US GAAP. Experience with technical accounting research.
Software Proficiency : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Sumifs, etc.). Significant experience with a mid-to-large tier ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Leadership : Proven experience mentoring or supervising team members.
Analytical Skills : Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
