Project Accountant
Location
Lafayette, LA Schedule
Monday – Friday (8 AM – 5 PM) Salary
$60,000 – $75,000
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts, costs, and financial reports.
Review and process subcontractor invoices, change orders, progress billings, and project payments.
Collaborate with project managers on budget revisions, cost-to-complete estimates, and variance analysis.
Prepare project‑specific financial statements and ensure compliance with contract terms, GAAP, and industry regulations.
Manage project setup in accounting systems, accounts receivable, and maintain documentation for audits and financial controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or engineering.
Proficiency in construction-related software (Sage, Procore, Foundations, Viewpoint) preferred.
Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and AIA billing.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
