Payroll Analyst (1099 Contract, Part-Time)

Responsibilities
Manage payroll and timekeeping functions, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of payroll cycles for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors
Ensure accuracy of payroll changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
Audit payroll transactions periodically to confirm accuracy of amounts and payment dates
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements, advising management on necessary actions
Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams to resolve payroll-related discrepancies
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst
Part-time availability during traditional business hours (9 am-5 pm within your designated time zone)
In-depth knowledge of labor legislation and tax regulations across all 50 states
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Bachelor's degree; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with payroll software implementation and familiarity with UKG
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt processes to meet business needs
General understanding of accounting and its impact on payroll
Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills
Experience answering payroll-related inquiries from employees in a clear and courteous manner
