Job Description
As the Partnership Tax Manager, you’ll conduct primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns and provide tax consulting services for partnership clients. You’ll collaborate with the Partnership Tax team and recommend return preparation and tax savings opportunities, focusing on accuracy, quality and client service.
Your Day-to-day May Include
Evaluate the tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage clients’ IRC 704(b) accounts.
Lead multiple client services teams on engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects across industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise.
Develop, train and mentor staff on tax projects and assess their performance.
Research and consult on various tax matters, primarily Sub‑chapter K Partnership taxation; use tax software to prepare and process returns.
Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure deadlines, and enhance relationships.
Support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, and pursuit at clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
CPA required.
Minimum 6–10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting.
Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation and mergers & acquisitions is preferred.
Excellent analytical, technical and tax accounting/technology skills; proficiency in US GAAP, partnership returns, joint venture and non‑corporate entity tax returns and understanding of Sub‑chapter K partnership taxation required.
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring skills; excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast‑paced team environment.
Can travel as needed.
