Position Overview
We are seeking a hands‑on
Level 2 Desktop / Site Support Technician
to provide onsite end‑user and facility IT support at its Hartsville‑area manufacturing location. This role requires a technician who understands core Windows desktop support concepts, can work independently on day‑to‑day issues, and retains foundational IT knowledge without repeated guidance.
The ideal candidate is confident in endpoint support fundamentals, communicates clearly with users and IT teams, documents solutions, and maintains personal reference material to ensure consistent issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite Level 2 support for end users across Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and business applications
Troubleshoot PC hardware, software, and operating system issues
Support printer issues (local and network printers)
Perform PC imaging, deployment, and refresh activities
Assist the network team with onsite support, including:
Cable troubleshooting
Switch replacements (hands‑and eyes support)
Respond to and resolve network connectivity issues at the desktop level
Support project‑based IT work as needed
Required Technical Knowledge Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of the following core concepts:
Windows permissions
Understanding folder permissions and how to modify or update them
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) Active Directory
Understanding computer objects and Organizational Units (OUs)
Ability to move computers between OUs
SCCM
Familiarity with imaging and deployment workflows
Qualifications
2–5+ years of hands‑on desktop or site support experience (Level 2 preferred)
Experience supporting onsite users in an enterprise environment
Manufacturing or plant‑floor support experience is a plus
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
