Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Senior Accountant / Lead Accountant Position This real estate investment company is very stable, looking for someone who wants a long term home and has hundreds of millions of dollars of assets under management including commercial and residential real estate, public and private property investments, and multiple other assets.

Location West Los Angeles (close to 90049). Applicants must be local to Southern California, West LA preferred.

Secured parking provided along with a beautiful office view.

Responsibilities

Perform all accounting functions from start to finish for an assigned portfolio of companies.

Responsible for posting and adjusting all journal entries.

Reconcile bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, control accounts, and fixed assets.

Post adjusting journal entries, prepaids and amortizations.

Work with external CPA firms and procure necessary documents for tax returns, estimated tax payments and all requests to comply with GAAP.

Prepare special project requests as well as maintain cash projections, loan summaries and adherence to letters of credit.

Secure financial information by keeping information confidential.

Maintain accounting controls by following checks and balances as well as other policies and procedures; develop new ones as needed.

Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.

Create and maintain a culture of compliance and organizational excellence through collaboration with accounting, financial planning and analysis.

Manage monthly and yearly financial close, assist in the annual budgeting process, assist in the annual financial audit, process intercompany transactions and accruals, assure all financial transactions conform to GAAP and special projects as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.

CPA (active or inactive) is a plus but may be substituted for experience.

Previous work experience in both small to mid sized company or public accounting.

Experience in GL accounting including month-end close or audit/assurance experience.

Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of management.

Ability to manage a broad range of activities and juggle multiple tasks.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Organized, self-motivated, ability to multi-task and work independently.
