Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Controller to lead financial operations for our beef processing division. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in large-scale beef production environments, preferably with prior experience at industry leaders such as JBS, Cargill, or Tyson Foods. This role is critical for driving financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across our beef business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership: Oversee all accounting and financial reporting for beef operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Cost & Yield Analysis: Monitor and analyze production yields, cost of goods sold, and inventory valuation to optimize profitability.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis for beef plants and related operations.
Operational Support: Partner with plant managers and operations teams to provide actionable financial insights and improve cost efficiency.
Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal controls and audit readiness across all beef facilities.
Strategic Initiatives: Support M&A evaluations, capital projects, and margin improvement strategies within the beef segment.
Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of plant controllers and financial analysts.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
5+ years in a senior financial leadership role within the beef processing industry.
Prior experience at JBS, Cargill, Tyson Foods, or similar large-scale beef processors strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, JD Edwards), Excel, and financial modeling.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of beef production economics, yield analysis, and USDA compliance.
Leadership: Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive financial discipline in a fast-paced environment.
