CBTS is searching for a certified
Cisco CCNA Engineer
level 2 to support the deployment, build, and operational maintenance of an enterprise Cisco networking infrastructure environment. This environment includes
routers, switches, and firewalls . The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in network monitoring tools and a solid understanding of
ServiceNow
for creating, triaging, and resolving network tickets. This role is perfect for someone who holds a
CCNA and 3+ years of professional experience , is detail-oriented, and eager to grow in enterprise networking.
Key Responsibilities Deployment & Build
Install, configure, and validate
Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
(e.g., ISR/ASR, Catalyst/Nexus, ASA/FTD).
Implement basic L2/L3 configurations: VLANs, trunks, EtherChannel, STP, inter‑VLAN routing, static routes, and OSPF/EIGRP (entry‑level scope).
Apply and document firewall policy changes under supervision (ACLs, NAT, basic rule hygiene).
Execute network changes following change management processes, with pre/post validation.
Operations & Maintenance
Perform routine device health checks, backups, inventory updates, and OS/image management (planned upgrades under guidance).
Troubleshoot network incidents: interface/duplex errors, routing reachability, DHCP/DNS issues at the network edge, and basic wireless connectivity escalations.
Maintain configuration standards and runbooks; ensure compliance with operational and security baselines.
Monitor network performance and availability using common tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Thousand Eyes, DNAC—tooling may vary).
Investigate alerts (latency, packet loss, interface down, CRC errors), elevate as needed, and drive resolution for Level 1/2 scope.
Create, update, and resolve
ServiceNow
incidents, requests, and changes; ensure accurate categorization, impact/urgency, and documentation.
Provide timely communications and status updates to stakeholders per SLA.
Partner with senior engineers, operations, and security teams on troubleshooting and deployments.
Maintain clear, accurate network diagrams, asset records, and knowledge base articles.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending fixes or automation.
Requirements (Must-Have)
Hands‑on experience deploying and maintaining
Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
in a production or lab environment.
Candidate needs to have basic Network Troubleshooting CLI experience with PING, TraceRoute, Etc.
Proficiency with
network monitoring tools
(alert interpretation, root‑cause basics, remediation steps).
Experience using
ServiceNow
to create, triage, and resolve network‑related tickets.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, trunking, STP, routing basics (static/OSPF/EIGRP), ACLs, NAT.
Familiarity with CLI‑based configuration and show/diagnostic commands (show ip interface brief, show run, show vlan, show cdp neighbors, etc.).
Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to follow standardized procedures and operate within SLAs and change control processes.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)
Exposure to Viptella SD‑WAN build and Support
Exposure to
Cisco Firepower/FTD
and
ASA
policy management; familiarity with FMC.
Experience with
Wireless LAN
basics (controllers/APs, SSIDs, authentication flows).
Basic understanding of
VPNs
(site‑to‑site, remote access) and
QoS
concepts.
Experience with
DNS/DHCP
interactions at the network edge; familiarity with
RADIUS/TACACS+ .
Scripting or automation exposure (e.g., Python, Ansible) for tasks like backups or config checks.
Knowledge of
ITIL
practices; prior work in a NOC or MSP environment.
