The
BIM & MEP Coordinator
is responsible for coordinating all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout project design and construction. This position ensures that all MEP and BIM coordination activities are executed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel to identify and resolve coordination issues before construction begins. The BIM & MEP Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the company’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and excellence in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities BIM & Design Coordination
Manage and maintain all 3D models received during construction and closeout phases.
Create, update, and coordinate Revit models for MEP systems to support construction coordination and design‑assist services.
Facilitate coordination meetings with trade partners, design teams, and project stakeholders.
Conduct clash detection and coordinate resolutions between architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
Generate 3D virtual mockups to identify and correct potential field issues before construction.
Laser‑scan, process point clouds, and model existing spaces in Revit from scan data.
Plan and execute drone flights to collect usable data for site analysis and progress tracking.
Project Coordination & Technical Oversight
Coordinate the installation of MEP systems across all project phases.
Review MEP drawings, plans, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
Identify potential design conflicts early and provide solutions to prevent delays.
Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical and design issues.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor MEP work quality and progress.
Compliance, Reporting & Safety
Ensure all MEP installations comply with local building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
Prepare regular reports detailing MEP and BIM progress, risks, and coordination outcomes.
Support enforcement of site safety standards related to MEP and BIM activities.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
Working Conditions
Primarily site‑based with regular visits to active construction projects.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
This is an in‑person position based in CORE’s Roseville office — not remote.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP coordination and at least 1 year of BIM coordination or modeling experience.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction.
Proficiency in AutoDesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with CMAR and/or Design‑Build delivery methods.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
Must be willing to travel to project sites within California.
Valid driver’s license required.
FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft Pilot license (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Experience with large‑scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or MEP/BIM‑specific credentials.
Familiarity with drone data analysis and 3D point cloud modeling.
