Assistant Accountant - Operational Finance
Location: Monroe, MI
Salary: $80,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
Analyze manufacturing costs including labor, materials, overhead, scrap, and work-in-process (WIP)
Reconcile inventory, WIP, and finished goods accounts
Support budgeting, forecasting, and product profitability analysis
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Collaborate with operations and production teams to understand cost drivers and improve margins
Support capital project accounting and fixed asset tracking
Assist with internal and external audits, including inventory and cost-related documentation
Utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate financial and cost data
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with inventory accounting and variance analysis
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
Preferred Qualifications
ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
