Property Accountant – Commercial Real Estate
Beacon Group is seeking a qualified
Property Accountant
to join a dynamic commercial real estate client operating within the Fort Worth, TX area. The role supports a retail and office property portfolio and is responsible for managing the complete accounting lifecycle for a large commercial property, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely analysis to support ownership and management decision‑making.
Responsibilities
Oversee the full accounting cycle for the property, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and accounts payable processing
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and detailed support schedules
Review lease agreements and amendments to ensure tenant billings are accurate and aligned with contractual terms
Manage accounts receivable activity by monitoring tenant balances, addressing outstanding items, and responding to billing inquiries
Complete annual reconciliations related to operating expenses, utilities, and common area maintenance charges for retail and office tenants
Develop annual property budgets and prepare quarterly financial forecasts in coordination with management
Prepare monthly cash flow analyses and coordinate partner distributions
Calculate and record property management fees in accordance with management agreements
Support year‑end close by preparing schedules and workpapers for tax filings and audits, and respond to inquiries from auditors, owners, and partners
Assist with ad‑hoc analyses and special projects as business needs arise
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with three or more years of progressive accounting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP and experience supporting property or real estate accounting environments required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of an organization
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve problems, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines
