We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our dynamic team in Lake Mary, Florida. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting mutual fund operations and financial reporting processes.
About the Role As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, performing key reconciliations, and maintaining records that support daily and monthly fund accounting activities. You’ll collaborate closely with internal partners and clients to deliver high-quality financial information and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Report and verify mutual fund data for clients, internal teams, and database providers.
Perform reconciliations and research discrepancies on holdings, accruals, trades, and cash balances.
Update and maintain mutual fund databases and accounting records.
Record trade instructions and income accruals accurately and promptly.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and verification of tax statements for internal departments.
Support trade capture reconciliation, cash reconciliation, and related project initiatives.
Investigate and resolve mismatches within the accounting system to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Hybrid schedule:
3–4 days per week onsite in the Lake Mary, FL office.
Work as part of a collaborative team of 10 accounting professionals.
Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance , or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and other MS Office applications.
Mutual fund / fund accounting / fund conversion experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles.
High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with trade capture and cash reconciliation processes.
Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP tools
Exposure to consolidation and financial close processes
