Associate Plant Accountant

Base Pay Range $54,000.00/yr - $62,000.00/yr
What you’ll do:
Build accurate inventory reports for finished goods and raw materials while supporting our families of products across the plant.
Write and present clear production updates for cheese, whey, and processing lines to help the team see progress and spot opportunities for improvement.
Apply standard accounting practices to maintain reliable controls for manufactured product and raw-material inventories.
Support a transparent controls environment by completing routine reviews and in‑plant validations with care and consistency.
Complete payroll entries and accounts‑payable processing with accuracy, helping the plant run smoothly every week.
Review payroll activity, identify inconsistencies, and recommend the right course to correct them.
Coordinate with AP vendors and plant suppliers to ensure invoices, payments, and supporting documents move efficiently.
Report utility usage and share insights with production leadership, strengthening planning discussions.
Participate in budget activities by preparing plant financial reports, completing analytical reviews, and helping shape monthly forecasts.
Build collaborative relationships with plant and corporate partners and present information in a way people can easily understand.
Support plant audits and contribute to process improvements that help the team work more efficiently.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR similar work experience in a related industry.
Up to two years of experience in accounting or finance.
Experience using accounting systems or financial software in a production, manufacturing, or related environment.
Ability to complete essential payroll and AP duties with accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in cost accounting and manufacturing‑related inventory practices.
Strong working knowledge of controls, auditing procedures, and standard financial reporting methodologies.
