A large non profit in the Los Angeles area is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month‑end close, the general ledger, and analyzing revenue. Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
3-5 years of accounting experience
MUST be Advanced in Excel
Nonprofit or healthcare experience a strong plus
Must be willing to do some travel
Must be willing to work an earlier schedule (7am)
Responsibilities
Record monthly journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare supporting documentation.
Oversee the accuracy of the GL and coordinate timely completion of month‑end and year‑end close.
Direct financial activities, including proper expense allocation and recognition of compliance with applicable guidelines.
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Assist with the annual audit.
Review existing internal control procedures, identifying opportunities to strengthen financial accuracy and streamline operations.
Provide support in completing IRS Form 990 and other required filings with regulatory agencies.
Partner with leaders to analyze budget‑to‑actual performance and deliver insights.
Manage contract‑related financial processes, including billing, invoicing, and tracking reimbursable costs according to contract and grant requirements.
