Vaco Phoenix is working with a client who has a great opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This role is a fully onsite position in North Scottsdale, and can pay up to $80k per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Manage the Accounts Payable function by reviewing and coding invoices, ensuring compliance with capitalization policies, securing proper documentation and approvals, and maintaining accurate vendor records.

Oversee weekly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in accordance with aging reports.

Research and resolve internal and external inquiries related to account status or invoice discrepancies and communicate outcomes to the appropriate stakeholders.

Prepare and file 1099 tax forms for vendors and directors.

Process employee expense reports in Concur and provide support to users with related questions.

Perform daily cash applications in SAP and complete bank reconciliations as needed.

Assist with month‑end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing aging reports, and recording accruals.

Qualifications

3+ years accounts payable with tri‑way match and general accounting experience

Strong understanding of accounts payable and general accounting procedures

Experience with large ERP preferred

Good communication skills

Ability to organize and prioritize

Attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management

High ethical and professional

Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines

Ability to work as part of a team

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
